Julie Yeo is a Polyvagal informed therapist with over 20 years of working with families, and couples;
- • Over 10 years working within sexual assault/family violence space (in NZ),
- • the last 9 years within the mental health sector as a family therapist/couples counsellor.
Julie’s special interests include :
- • Working with teenagers/young people within the context of their family relationships to help reduce conflict and strengthen relationships,
- • Helping couples identify and work towards reducing interpersonal conflict,
- • Families seeking therapy to reduce conflict and improve communication/relationships within the home.
Julie incorporates different evidence-based therapeutic approaches like:

Julie has a clinical masters in Family therapy, diplomas in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Health and Human Behavior, and Child Protection Studies. Julie has also completed a specialist course in Integrative couples therapy and has training in Emotion Focused Couples/Family therapy, and Compassion Focussed therapy.
Julie holds the belief that people heal in connection with others and her work with couples, individuals and families is a collaborative approach, always holding in mind that individuals are the experts in their own experience.
