Julie Yeo is a Polyvagal informed therapist with over 20 years of working with families, and couples;
- Over 10 years working within sexual assault/family violence space (in NZ),
- the last 10+ years within the mental health sector as a family therapist & couples counsellor.
Julie’s offerings include:
- Helping couples identify and work towards reducing interpersonal conflict,
- Families seeking therapy to reduce conflict and improve communication/relationships within the home,
- Working with teenagers/young people within the context of their family relationships to help reduce conflict and strengthen relationships,
- Trauma informed/systemic clinical supervision,
- Reflective practice for groups and individuals.
Julie incorporates different evidence-based therapeutic approaches like:

- Trauma and Attachment/Systems Theory

Julie has a clinical masters in Family therapy, diplomas in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Health and Human Behavior, and Child Protection Studies. Julie has also completed a specialist course in Integrative couples therapy and has training in Emotion Focused Couples/Family therapy, and Compassion Focused therapy.
Julie holds the belief that people heal in connection with others and her work with couples, individuals and families is a collaborative approach, always holding in mind that individuals are the experts in their own experience.
